Show Notes

This episode features a conversation with my guest, Matt Brown.

Matt is an extremely proud dad, husband, son, and friend; and is passionate about creating new content that helps others. He is often talking to other dads on MusicFootballFatherhood's IG Live  account, The Lodge, or on MFF's many other events. Matt is looking forward to hosting his own podcast later this year as a means to engage with other people in order to create a space where life experiences can be shared. To understand part of Matt's philosophy of fatherhood, parenting, and life in general, he shares this quote by Jon Kabat-Zinn: "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf".

In this conversation, Matt opens up about his journey finding out he was having twins while he was only expecting to grow his family by an additional child. It is a wildly entertaining story, but raw and honest from his perspective at the same time. We take the opportunity to talk some football (soccer) and an instance where racial tension and hate reared its ugly face through sports, and how we processed these events as fathers, more particularly Black fathers, raising Black children in different parts of the world.

This is only part one of our conversation. It is rich, bold, engaging, funny, and intimate.
